this is incredibly awesome. I was born in California and lived there for 17 and a half years until I moved to Oregon, so California has always had a special place in my heart. Definitely going to buy this if I am able
I'm super happy you have my hometown, Blythe! We hardly get recognized on anything, lol. However, you have Lake Havasu and Yuma on the "map" but both of those are cities in Arizona, not in California. You also have Brawley listed twice, it is infact located lower than Blythe, physically. Just wanted to let you know if you want to update!
Oh, 3 down from Parlier (2 down from Lemoore), you have Parliet. Is Parliet a city? Also, you swapped the 'n' and the 'g' in "Coalinga" (right above Parliet).
All in all, this is an amazing piece of work. It's incredible how many cities you were able to include on this. As a native Californian, this makes me really happy to see. I may just have to bug my husband to get a canvas print of this to hang up in our apartment.
Although I do have a question about the prints: On the prints page, some of the image gets cut off. Do you know if the actual prints are of the full image or if the preview is accurate?
This is absolutely awesome! I LOVE IT. However, I have to ask, why is Ventura on there three times? San Buenaventura is the technical name for the city, but everyone just calls it Ventura. Maybe in place of two of them you could put Camarillo or Hueneme?
I'm sorry, but how come you labeled county names. By labeling counties you left of many cities including Livermore, Pleasanton, Stockton, etc. Also, there's no city called Daly. It's Daly city. This is a big idea, but honestly, the execution is shoddy at best.
It's kind of funny how your avatar doesn't match your angry-face mood. I think it's a great representation of California. There's no way such an image could include every city and town in the state, it's difficult enough for a map to, let alone an art piece. Chillax.
I think having the whole map with such small font would take away from the artistic nature of the piece. Having the LA area done in such a way helps to illustrate how large the area is and how much is going on there, I think.
I don't know how well this could be rearranged any so the cities are in the right place but up in the Northern part, Arcata, Eureka, Ferndale, and Fortuna are in the wrong order of which one is most-North amongst themselves and such.
cartographically, this is ok. from a city point of view, it's incomplete. From a county point of view, it's incomplete. SF isn't in the east bay. Where's berkeley? How can I tell the difference between city and county? Why is Fresno larger than SF?
because of the LA font, for a second I thought this was going to be about news papers, too. la's kinda a wrench.
great job, you're almost there. few minor tweaks, and you;d have a great product.
